Joe Dooling, 46, is a longtime Republican activist.

Dooling grew up on a ranch in Dillon, studied agribusiness and economics at Montana State University, and worked for KLG Engineering on infrastructure projects before becoming a full-time farmer and rancher. Dooling is the former chairman of the Lewis and Clark County Republican Central Committee. In 2019 he ran for the U.S. House, but did not advance beyond the primaries.

He lives in Helena with his wife, Julie, who serves in the Montana House of Representatives.
